BASE MARK

The theme for SS2022 centers around the record label 2Tone and its inception in the 70’s. 2Tone was formed in London by English and Jamaicans, combining punk and ska: a unique combination which ultimately transformed 2Tone into more than just a record label, but a genre in and of itself. Taking this inspiration broadly, the SS2022 collection blends aspects of English and African materials and motifs. These themes manifest as English Shetland wool and colorful African prints which can be seen used in BASE MARK’s signature pieces such as jackets and pants. In addition, printed swimwear material recreates the feeling of resorts and beaches made sparse due to corona virus.

A collaboration with the Czech bag brand, BRAASI INDUSTRY, is featured as part of the SS22 collection. Two of BRAASI’s classic items are transformed using the original prints and fabrics from the SS22 collection: MIKA (backpack), and GEORGINA (tote).The BRAASI iconic straps are also in BASE MARK original colors.
