The focus of my project is to explore how humans have approached the question "What is the meaning of life". The concept of the present and the afterlife is deeply rooted in human culture, philosophy, and spirituality. Virtually every religious tradition offers some explanation of three key concerns the beginning's of the world, the meaning and purpose of human existence, and the end of life.
The Present Life
A garden in its full bloom represents the vibrant, ever-changing nature of the present life. The growth of a garden mirrors the growth of our own existence, marked by seasons of joy, love, hardship, and sorrow.
The Cycle of Life and Death
The garden's symbolism extends beyond the present, hinting at the idea of an afterlife or legacy. Just as plants in a garden go through seasons of growth, bloom, decline, and eventual return to the earth, our lives follow a similar cycle. In the afterlife, the garden metaphor shows that our essence, our energy, or our influence persists in some form, just as the nutrients of the soil nurture new growth. Nurturing the metaphorical garden of one’s being carried on beyond the mortal veil, blossoming eternally in the unseen but ever-present garden of existence — a realm where a legacy of life lived to flourish, contributing to a cycle of growth, renewal, and spiritual abundance.
